Dallas Arts District Site Goes Live
The Dallas Arts District is a unique, 68-acre, 19-block neighborhood in the heart of the city. A rare jewel that is the centerpiece of the region’s cultural life, the District is home to some of the finest architecture in the world. Enhancing the downtown Dallas skyline are buildings by Pritzker Prize winners I.M. Pei, Renzo Piano, Norman Foster, Rem Koolhaas and AIA “Gold Medal” recipient Edward Larrabee Barnes.
About Dallas Arts District
n January of this year, a new organization was created: Dallas Arts District. Operating under the umbrella of DOWNTOWNDALLAS, a private nonprofit organization that serves as an advocate for downtown Dallas, Dallas Arts District acts as an advocate, steward and representative on behalf of the Dallas Arts District.
In addition to serving the needs of those in the neighborhood, Dallas Arts District also assumed the responsibilities of the former Arts District Alliance (once known as the Arts District Friends) - educating the larger community about the benefits and resources of the district.
VISION:
Dallas Arts District is dedicated to stimulating the economic and cultural life of the Dallas Arts District through the development and promotion of the district.
MISSION:
The mission of Dallas Arts District is to serve the community by providing leadership in:
* Determining priority issues for the district as a whole.
* Convening stakeholders and interested parties to identify opportunities to improve delivery of services and quality of life in the district.
* Increase awareness and access to the Dallas Arts District.
Dallas Arts District is a private nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and is funded by grants, voluntary membership dues, sponsorships and donations.
